The Light and Shadow of Mercury in the Secondary Progressed Chart
The changeable nature of Mercury is found in its synodic cycle and its shifts between being direct and retrograde. The meaning of Mercury’s cycles will be applied to the secondary progressed chart, where Mercury’s movement across a lifetime demarcates vital periods of personal development. Gray will explain how to interpret the shift of progressed Mercury from being direct to retrograde and vice versa, and what to pay attention to in relation to the natal chart.

Diachronicity and the Developmental Age Method
Diachronicity entails a meaningful coincidence between events from different stages that are expressions of the same planetary aspect. If houses represent developmental stages of specific duration, and planets in houses signal when that planetary process will be most acute, then aspects show connections between planetary periods. Learn how traumatic experiences from an earlier developmental level are unconsciously recreated at a later stage in order to be solved by virtue of the higher-level perspective.

Transpersonal Transits to the Moon: Crisis or Enlightenment?
The transpersonal planets shift ever so slowly. If we are lucky enough (or not!) to experience a major transit of Uranus, Neptune or Pluto to our natal moon what can be expected? What are the distinguishing characteristics of such pivotal turning points? Research indicates these transits often `open an individual up' to their spiritual, psychic gifts, and healing gifts. We will compare and contrast these significant transits, and offer supportive tools to navigate them.

Radical Awakening: Uranus Opposition
The Uranus opposition that occurs as we enter the mid-life of our forties has a deservedly dramatic reputation. Known as a lightning strike of revelation within cycles of personal development, it brings shakeups that upend the previous status quo of our life. This talk will explore ways to respond to the liberating impulses that arise in correspondence, as well as its connection to transits involving Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto that lead into it.

Progressed Lunar Returns
So often eclipsed by the more widely-known Saturn returns, the progressed lunar returns at age 27 and age 54 are equally significant. They set the attitudinal stage for a successful passage out of youth and into mid-life, or out of mid-life and into the cycle of the elder. Implicit in every "mood" are a set of values and interests. Get them right, and you've set the stage for happiness as you move forward in years.

Who Do You Think You Are?
Since forming the first human collectives, people have been faced with at least three milestones of personal development; becoming secure within the family unit, partnering with others in cooperative endeavors, and becoming a productive and dependable contributor to the larger social group. By synthesizing the insights of astrologers with the observations of behavioral scientists, a coherent system is established in the birth chart where all three phases of personal development are found to operate interdependently.

Secondary Progressions: Ready or Not!
The all-important predictive technique of Secondary Progressions really let us know what we are "ready" for. Without them, transits can be misleading and our predictive work runs the risk of being superficial and pat. True, transits might let us know what might or could happen, but Secondary Progressions let us know what we are ready and open to have happen. Emphasis will be placed on cyclical progressions, such as progressed new and full moons.

Mars and Jupiter: Paladins of Growth
We often refer the Saturn cycle to determine a person’s maturity level, and to Uranus cycle to lay down moments of change. But, what about the smaller cycles? Mars, Jupiter’s? And Jupiter gives us the chance to enlarge our overall life goals every twelve years, and to calibrate them every 3 years. Our paladins of growth!

The Astrological Biorhythm: The Progressed Moon by Declination
In addition to the cyclical motion around the chart, declination reveals the vertical dimension of height and depth. Cancer is at the northernmost declination, and Capricorn is southern. The Progressed Moon rises and falls in a 28 year cycle, spending 7 years in each "season," beginning with the cardinal signs. We all go through peaks and valleys through the seasonal cycle. The dimension of declination provides indispensable insight to our evolution as seen through progressions.

Astrology and the Adolescent Brain

Do you really think you’ve outgrown being a teenager?

Recent advances in neurology seem to indicate that rapid brain development during adolescence has a long-term effect. It creates life-long habits that are nearly impossible to break.

Drawing on her award-winning astrological research on astrology and education, Alex will demonstrate the link between addiction, violence and neurological developments in a variety of case studies. This is supported by some very startling results from her statistical analysis of the 20,000 entries in her behaviour database. Her critical analysis of the "modern" educational system (which has changed very littled since the 19th century) is based on years of teaching in a conventional classroom. Her study creates a compelling argument for using astrology as a catalyst for educational reform.

Alex’s lecture is highly recommended viewing for parents, teachers and other authority figures as well as anyone else who thinks it’s time to pay a little more attention to what is happening in our schools.
