To make the real is to sacrifice the ideal. Three Greek myths of the Virgin describe different facets of the doubt, sorrow, and grief that always accompany the choice to create, embody, and incarnate ourselves and our dreams. This talk will discuss these stories and the compassionate perspective they offer of our human difficulties with surrender to the cycles of loss and renewal (and retrogradation) that become the warp and weft of any creative life.
