In both traditional Eastern and Western forms of astrology there are planets, houses and aspects that have been classified as "Good" or Benefic, and "Bad" or Malefic. Modern astrologers dispute this concept, and rightly so. What has been lacking is an explanation for why this classification has arisen. It takes more than good intentions to change these symbols from one to the other. This lecture discusses the causes of and solutions to the Malefic-Benefic polarization.
