Simon Forman wrote multiple versions of his astrological manual - none of which saw their way into print. History remembers him as an incompetent quack; astrologers as a highly skilled practitioner, especially of medical astrology. This talk examines his work (focusing on MS Sloane 99, which I have transcribed and published in an annotated and modernised version), and looks at Forman's sources, techniques and contribution to astrology.
